Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO)

The Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO) was founded on 1939, with the purpose of boosting Chile’s production and industrialization, having a prominent role on the country’s development: today, over 50% of the companies traded in Santiago’s stock exchange were founded by CORFO.

CORFO is a de-centralized public service, with its own patrimony and legal personality, whose work covers the totality of Chile’s territory, supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and competitivity, strengthening human capital and technological capabilities, with it’s main objective being the promotion of a society with more and better opportunities for the economic development of the country. This is done through the support of high potential sectors, projecting Chile towards a sustainable economy, socially responsible with its natural resources, and compromised with its habitant’s quality of life.

Green Hydrogen Committee

The Committee for the Development of the Green Hydrogen Industry was created in 2022 by CORFO’s Council, with the purpose of accelerating the sustainable development of Chile’s green hydrogen industry, as well as its derivatives.

In this framework, it is possible to mention the promotion of the green hydrogen industry and its derivatives, aiming towards de-carbonizing the Chilean economy; the promotion of just transition principles; new productive chains and economic activities that, based on this energy vector, will contribute towards the sustainable productive development and the mitigation of greenhouse gases’ emissions, at national and global level.
